🍲 Golden Turmeric Lentil Soup Recipe

Warm, nourishing, and deeply spiced

This soup is sunshine in a bowl. Made with red lentils, cozy spices, and a golden glow from Spice Souk Turmeric, it’s hearty enough to be dinner, light enough for lunch, and perfect for meal prep. You only need one pot, and about 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp Spice Souk Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 carrot, diced

  • 1 cup red lentils, rinsed

  • ½ tsp Spice Souk Turmeric

  • ½ tsp Spice Souk Cumin

  • 1 pinch cayenne (optional, for heat)

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • 4 cups vegetable broth (or water with a bouillon cube)

  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté onions, garlic, and carrot until soft.

  2. Add lentils, turmeric, cumin, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat.

  3. Pour in broth and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, until lentils are tender.

  4. Blend (fully or partially) for desired creaminess.

  5. Stir in lemon juice, taste, and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.
